White Pine Needle - Nesting Material
For Sale

White Pine Needles are long, semi-soft pine needles growing in groups of three needles, measuring ~4" long. Raising Diamond, Ringneck & a dozen other species of doves along with Quail, Pheasants, Partridges & Finches, I have found dried White Pine Needles to be wonderful nesting material.

I am now offering packages of these needles at $5.00 US, Postage Paid, within the lower 48 States.

I collect the needles, wash & dry them and pick them of sticks. I sellect about six handfulls, a heaping gallon jug of loose needles, slip them into a 1-quart plastic bag with paper insert, vacuum & seal the bag and they are ready for shipping.

This amount of needles should be enough for six nests for Ringneck or similar doves, more nests for smaller birds. Place a small handful of needles in a corner of the cage or place them in a small net bag and hang them. If the birds build a nest above the edge of the nest basket, reduce the amount of needles available to them. Be sure to remove used needles and clean the nest basket between clutches. For added safety you might spray the needles with your disinfectant of choice, rinse and allow to dry before use.
