Paul Miller's Place
Holmes County, Ohio
These two flights are just
off the porch that is attached to the side of the garage. Paul
used 1/4 inch, green plastic coated wire for the cover. A little
expensive, but it sure makes for a nice and very safe flight.
These two side by side flights hold Diamond doves, Blue Ground
doves and even a small hook-bill.
Two views of the flights
off the garage.
A very light White Tail Pied
and a pair of Blue Ground doves from the above flights.
This five-sided flight is
down the yard a little bit from the garage. It houses a pair
of Tamborine doves and three pairs of Brilliant and White Tail
Diamond doves. The photo was taken from the porch off the garage.
Brilliant and very light
White Tail Diamond doves live in the five-sided flight along
with a pair of Tamborines.
Up the hill from the garage
are a few out building sheds and a two different rows of flights.
The sheds house birds mainly in the winter. The flights are heavily
planted and house species such as the larger Asian Turtle dove,
Australian Crested pigeons and Bar-shouldered doves. The following
pictures show some of the birds in these flights.
A Golden-heart in the flight
and a few shots of a Golden-heart chick just out of the nest.
Paul has good success with his Golden-hearts raising their own
in his heavily planted flights.
A pair of Green-wings in
the planted flights and a few extra shots of them.
The Mountain-witch doves
were on eggs and very elusive. These were the best shots I could
get. A very attractive bird though.
A Triangular-spotted Pigeon
A White-crowned Pigeon hanging
out with a Ringneck dove. He does have an injured beak.
Paul has the "larger"
Asian Turtle Dove. His pair was on the nest in a densly planted
flight. They were very illusive.
This male Tragopan was very
cooperative for pictures, even with the hen setting tight on
eggs in the nest-box.
