My first outdoor aviary at
our present home. Built under the large Oriental Maple in our
back yard. The namesake for "Maple Tree Aviaries".
Our Gazebo-style aviary,
further down the yard. This shot shows the small security door
to the left unfinished. This form of secondary door is very important
to eliminate birds getting loose.
The
Design and Building of My 10' x 12', Heated Bird House
This outdoor breeding house
is very well designed! It belongs to a friend of mine. It has
12 units within it for a breeding pair of Diamond Doves each.
By closing the wire door behind you, you eliminate the possibility
of birds getting loose. View
A Close-up Detail showing the individual
unit fronts of the breeding house. The single unit front is removeable,
smaller doors provide daily access to food and water containers
and birds if needed.

This is a four unit cage
suitable for the outdoors. Each unit measures about 2'wide x
18"deep x 18-24"tall and is suitible for a single breeding
pair of Diamond doves or Ringnecks.
This basic flight design
is the foundation of many of the flights I use and have seen.
The above drawing is based on a 4'x8'x6' flight, half covered
and half open. The dimensions can be adapted to fit your situations.
The
Design and Instructions on a Row of Four Flights
Based on the previous drawing,
this four flight unit fit a very specific need and space for
me. See the planning process at the link above.
