These examples
will be of cages used mainly for breeding Diamond Doves.
Usually housing
one pair per cage, often more than one cage per area.
This welded wire cage is one
of my favorites for breeding pairs of Diamond Doves. I presently
have a wall of these stacked three high and four cages wide. They
measure ~18" tall x 18" deep x 30" wide. They were
made for me by Country
Boy Cages. I had them modify a cage
they offered and prepare it as a tear-down to help with shipping.
It is a Great cage and very inexpensive. I highly recommend paying
them a visit. To better suit Diamond Doves I had them: Remove
the wire bottom above the pan, leaving the pan as the floor. Extend
the front of the pan to fill in any gap. Add two 18" dowel
perches, I put one to the right and low, the other higher to the
left. This encourages exercise. I place the nest in the rear,
left corner, level with the perch and hide it with greens.
Country Boy Cages stacked
with artificial lighting from behind.
Three wooden breeding cages
above measuring ~2' x 2' x 2.5'. Two larger flights are seen
below.
